As someone who lives and works in Oshkosh, I get asked all the time—what is there to do around here?

Whether you are planning a date night, hosting friends, or just looking for something new to do, Oshkosh has a really good mix of activities. Here are some of my go-to recommendations for things to do in the area.

1. Try an Escape Room at Escape Oshkosh

I might be a little biased here—but if you are looking for something fun, interactive, and different, an escape room is always my top recommendation.

It is a great option for date nights, families, friend groups, or even team-building events. You get 60 minutes to work together, solve puzzles, and complete a mission. It is fast-paced, engaging, and something people always remember after they leave.

2. Visit the Paine Art Center and Gardens

The Paine is one of the most beautiful spots in Oshkosh. The gardens are especially nice during the warmer months, and they always have different exhibits or seasonal displays going on.

It is a great option if you are looking for something a little more relaxed.

3. Check Out the EAA Aviation Museum

Even if you are not super into aviation, the EAA Aviation Museum is still worth visiting. The aircraft displays are impressive, and there is a lot to see and learn.

It is one of those places that surprises people once they actually go.

4. Catch a Show at The Grand Oshkosh

If you are looking for a night out, The Grand is a great option. They bring in a variety of performances, from concerts to comedy to theater.

It is also a really cool historic venue, which makes the experience feel a little more special.

5. Spend Time at Menominee Park

Menominee Park is one of my favorite places to go when I just want to get outside. It is right along the lake and has great walking paths and open space.

It is perfect for a casual afternoon, a walk, or just getting some fresh air.

6. Go Axe Throwing at 608 Axe Throwing

If you want something a little more high-energy, axe throwing is always a fun option. It is one of those activities that people are sometimes unsure about at first, but end up loving once they try it.

It adds a little bit of competition, which makes it even better.

7. Play at Glow in the Park

Glow in the Park is a fun indoor mini golf experience. It is casual, easy, and a good option if you are looking for something to do without overthinking it.

It is especially nice during the colder months when you want something indoors.

8. Stop into Adventure Games & Hobby

This is a great spot if you are into board games or just want to browse something different. It is one of those places where you can easily spend more time than you planned.

It is also a fun way to mix up your typical routine.

9. Walk Around Downtown Oshkosh

Downtown Oshkosh has a lot of charm. There are local shops, restaurants, coffee spots, and bars all within walking distance.

I always recommend pairing this with dinner or another activity to make a full evening out of it.

10. Try a New Restaurant or Grab Drinks

Oshkosh has a really solid food and drink scene. Whether you are looking for something casual or a nicer night out, there are plenty of options.

Trying a new place or ending the night with drinks is always a good way to wrap things up.

Final Thoughts

Oshkosh really does have a lot to offer, especially if you are willing to try something a little different.

Whether you are planning something simple or putting together a full night out, these are all solid options that I recommend all the time. And honestly, some of the best nights are just a combination of a few of these things put together.
